The Epiphany School

Our Capital Campaign

The Epiphany School of Global Studies is a school like no other. With high academic standards and a fully comprehensive, first-in-kind Global Studies Program, the educational experience at Epiphany is comparable to the finest independent schools in the state. But, we go beyond that. Our school is also anchored in the commandment to Love God and Your Neighbor as Yourself; we champion the old-fashioned virtues of respect, integrity, responsibility, and service; and we require a tuition far lower than peer schools. The Epiphany School of Global Studies is unique, not just in our region, but in the country. There is no other school like it.

Families appreciate our vision and programs, and they have flocked to the school. Enrollment has increased nearly 500% in the past seven years during a period in which enrollment in most independent schools has fallen. Renovations and expansions to the campus have occurred every summer since 2006, simply to keep up with the demand, and never once has the school asked for support.

Instead, because our tuition and fees do not cover the cost of operating expenses (let alone allowing for renovations, building campuses, updating technology, or improving athletic and performing arts facilities) we have subsidized every single student $1,000 per year since the school was founded.

Most schools wait to have the money in hand before they expand to meet demand. It’s fiscally prudent, but in our case, it would have meant turning away qualified students who wanted an unmatched education. And, isn’t that what education is all about? Isn’t it about the students? What kind of a school would we be if we turned away students and families who wanted an Epiphany education?

So, we took a risk. We built in the past in order to help current students and families for the here and now. We trusted that those in the school community would support all that we were trying to do when we asked them to. We believed that they would help make the school all that it could be, once they understood how special the school actually was. We had faith that most people would understand that we were doing it for their children; and therefore, they would show their appreciation when the time came. For all of these reasons, we launched the Sharing Our Gifts Capital Campaign.

The goal of the Sharing Our Gifts Capital Campaign is to move the school onto firm financial footing. Proceeds will pay for the facilities that current students are already using. The campaign will allow the school to expand and continue to improve our programs, which further benefits current students. It will contribute to scholarships, research, faculty salaries and professional development. It will allow us to pay down debt in order to increase the endowment, which will allow the school to survive the ups and downs of the economy, no matter what happens. Every trustee and member of the faculty has contributed to the Sharing our Gifts Capital Campaign, because they firmly believe in the Guiding Principles and Missions of the school. They believe in what we are doing.

We need to raise $10 million dollars in five years, so we have taken a leap of faith. We trusted our families. We believed our families would want to help the school become all it could be. And now it’s your opportunity to prove us right.

The school is worthy of your support. It is well-managed and budget conscious. It does great things. In a few short years, it has become known as a model school for Global Studies. The academics are first-rate, the facilities are excellent, and the old-fashioned virtues build conscientious young men and women for the future. When you share your gifts, you allow us to continue to offer an excellent education for your children and for generations of children to come. We need your support. Please donate now or make a pledge to show your support for the school. We can’t keep doing what we’re doing without you.
