Overview of the Middle School

The Middle School is a place of vigor where students continue to uncover their unique God-given gifts.  Academically, Middle School students build on the foundations established in the Lower School as they master the basic skills in English, mathematics, science and social studies necessary for success in the Upper School.  Middle School students also grow in their understanding of what it means to be part of a community of faith and scholarship as they participate in Community Gathering, advisory groups and clubs.  


Each aspect of our Middle School program challenges students to learn the importance of taking personal responsibility for their success.  Our team of Middle School teachers work collaboratively to develop opportunities to learn through classroom instruction, projects, field trips and unique competitions like, Geography Bee, Math Counts, and Science Olympiad. Middle School students are also eligible to compete in a wide variety of interscholastic sports and electives in fine arts and physical education. Our students have received awards on the state level in areas of history, art, music, science and math. 



                                                           Our Middle School Offers:

  • An advisory program which provides an environment for growth and accountability for every student as they transition into middle school and prepare for a successful upper school experience.   

  • Community Service events through Odyssey service day, Stop Hunger Now, Relay for Life and advisory outreach programs which create opportunities for students to serve those in need throughout our community.

  • An annual talent show, three seasons of interscholastic sports and a variety of clubs which invite students to explore, discover, and use their gifts.

  • An honors math program which challenges top math students to fulfill more completely their potential in mathematics.

  • Retreats and learning excursions which create an understanding of the importance of pursuing excellence in mind, body and spirit.

  • Global Travel opportunities during the final semester of 8th grade which create awareness of people, languages and cultures of the world.
