Welcome
Overview of the Upper School
Upon first entry into the Upper School in Sparks Hall, one quickly notices the defining traits of this division: intentionality in the programs we offer, rigor and challenge in the academic offerings, dignity in the manner with which students treat each other, and commitment by teachers to build relationships with their students. Students refine those skills learned in the Lower and the Middle Schools. These students learn how to express themselves clearly and effectively through writing, public speaking, and technology. | Learning in the Upper School is not limited to the classroom. Co-curricular activities allow students to develop leadership abilities and essential socialization skills. Athletics is another avenue for students to uncover their gifts. Through any of our twelve varsity athletic teams, students can challenge themselves physically and mentally. |
Standardized Testing All students in grades 9-11 take the PSAT each October. Juniors and Seniors are required to take the SAT and/or ACT. Students are encouraged to take SAT II subjects tests. |
